Things Needed to Remove the Wall Mount of LG TV
To remove the wall mount from your TV, you must have the following tools with you.
- A Screw Driver
- Electric Drill or a Wrench
- A large soft cloth
Once you all get this, the unmounting process is way easier to do.
Steps to Remove LG TV Wall Mount
With all the tools in hand, go through the separate headings to remove the wall mount from your TV.
Unplug the Cables from the TV
If your LG TV is turned on, turn it off first. Go over to the backside of the TV and remove every streaming device from your TV. Then, remove the power cable of your TV from behind. Make sure you have removed all the cables and devices from the TV.
Lift the TV & Wall Mount
Based on the wall mount you use, the mounting and dismounting process differ. Some TVs are mounted to the wall by hanging them on the wall brackets. Some will not follow this principle. So make sure what type of wall mount you’re using before getting into the process.
Try tilting and lifting the TV up slowly. If your LG TV comes off the wall bracket, you’re using a hung type. After removing the TV, use the wrench or electric drill to unmount the screws off the wall bracket. Now you have completely removed the wall mount apparatus from the wall.
Unscrew Safety Locks
When the above methods don’t work, then your wall mount is of a different principle. Go back to the wall mount and see for any bolts or straps hanging on it. If there is a strap, make a person hold your TV and slowly pull the thread below. This will remove the safety locks/ hatch of the mount from the wall bracket.
Lift the TV by pulling the straps. Now, you can remove the TV from the wall bracket. After removing the TV from the bracket, unscrew the wall brackets from the wall.
Besides these two models, there are retract space wall mounts. If you have one of those, then simply remove the wall mount screws of the LG TV from the swiveling bracket and remove your LG TV from the wall mount. Once you remove the TV, place it and the remaining screws on the soft cloth to prevent scratches and any damage. If you have any questions about removing the TV, come to my community forum for help.
