For the last few days my LG TV is showing a black appearance on the top half of the screen. I am literally not sure what to do to fix this issue. I have purchased it in 2019 and is running on NetCast OS.
There are plenty of reasons for the NetCast LG TV to display the top half of the screen darker. The major reason for this problem is the defective backlight or other hardware damage. If this is the case, you need to contact the LG Support team to resolve the problem. The support team will replace or repair the parts based on their severity.
The next reason for this issue is improper settings configuration. Check whether you have changed any brightness or backlight settings on your LG TV. If so, reset it to default settings. The last thing you need to ensure is a stable power supply. Rarely does an improper power supply make the LG TV's screen darker.
I tried resetting the picture settings on my LG TV, but unfortunately, it hasn't resolved the issue with the darkened top half of the screen. Given that, I'm inclined to explore the possibility of a hardware problem. Before reaching out to LG Support, are there ways to diagnose or confirm if it's indeed a hardware issue? Looking forward to gather as much information as possible before seeking further assistance.
Based on your problem, I think the backlights at the top of your LG TV have been damaged or defective. To check it, turn on your LG TV and play any video content.
Turn on the flashlight on your smartphone and place it near the top half of the LG TV screen. If you see any image or picture movement on the LG TV very lightly, you can confirm that the backlights or other hardware components are damaged.
As suggested before, you need to contact LG Customer Support to get this issue resolved.
