How to Install HBO Max on LG TV
To install the HBO Max app, your LG TV must have a webOS version of 3.5 or above. So make sure to check the LG TV webOS version before installing.
1. From the LG TV home screen, click on Apps/LG Content Store.
2. Tap on Search icon and type Max on the field.
3. Select the app on the TV and click on the Install button to get HBO Max on your LG Smart TV.
How to Activate and Stream HBO Max on LG Smart TV
After installing the app, you need to activate it to access its content on your TV. To do this, you have to log in with your HBO Max account on the TV.
1. Open the Max app on your TV and click on the Sign In button.
2. The TV screen will show you two options and a passcode to activate the app.
3. If you choose Use Your Remote option,
- Using the on-screen keyboard, type in the email and password for your Max subscription on the TV.
4. If you like to go with QR,
- Take your mobile and scan the QR posted on the screen, or you can visit the HBO Max activation website on your own.
- Enter the code you received on the website and click on the Next button.
- Then, type in the login details of your HBO Max on the website and finish the activation process.
5. After the login process is done, your TV will automatically go to the app’s home screen. From there, choose any content you desire and stream it on your LG TV big screen.
How to Cast and AirPlay HBO Max on LG TV
Using the Max app on Android or iPhone, you can easily cast/airplay its content on your TV. Using this feature, you can easily access HBO Max on your LG TV even without having to install the app.
To make this work,
- Connect your LG TV to WIFI and your mobile to the same network.
- Enable AirPlay on LG TV. (This is only for iPhone users)
1. Install the Max app from the Play Store or App Store.
2. Open the app and log in with your HBO Max account.
3. On the home screen, click on the Cast icon.
- iPhone users click on the AirPlay or Bluetooth option.
4. Choose your LG Smart TV from the list of available devices.
